Goals and Objectives

Oakdale Christian Academy provides an atmosphere conducive to learning and experiencing those areas of knowledge and activities which will allow its students to progress toward a more harmonious relationship to God, man, and his environment. In order to accomplish this main purpose, the following objectives are stated:

To provide learning experiences which aid our understanding of God and his relationship to man and the universe.

To provide opportunity for students to study the past in order to better understand the present and prepare for the future.

To help students understand themselves in order that they may use their talents and develop their abilities to lead happy, fulfilling lives.

To provide experiences and opportunities in the area of social development in order that they may better understand each other and society in general.

To provide adequate opportunity for students to discover those scientific laws, principles and theories which describe and explain matter and energy in this natural realm.

To provide for a working knowledge of matters relating to numbers and their functions, especially relating to their use in the economy of life.

To provide experiences which will aid young people as they prepare for their places of service to God and man.

To provide biblical training in systematic courses for high school credit.

To test and evaluate students and use results of same in an effort to provide guidance for future academic and occupational plans.

To provide a working knowledge in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

To provide opportunities for knowledge and experience in the fine arts in order that students may develop their talents in these areas as well as appreciate the achievements of others.

To provide a curriculum which meets the standards set by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the Association of Christian Schools International.

To provide all equipment and services necessary to effectively operate a Christian boarding school for grades seven through twelve.

To provide a program of studies leading to a high school diploma which will enable qualified students to continue their education at an institution of higher learning or a trade or technical school or to enter the labor force.

To promote good citizenship on the local, state, and national levels.

To provide care and guidance in all areas of life related to the normal development of teenagers.

God comes first at Oakdale; spiritual interests are given their rightful place of paramount importance. There is a proper religious emphasis in all of the classes, as well as in the personal interactions between staff and students.

The spiritual welfare of every student is promoted through daily chapel services, daily faculty and student prayer meetings, student vespers, revival and other special services, and weekly attendance at Sunday services in the Oakdale Free Methodist Church.
